Where to Get Stock Analysis and Stock Research Online
There are many sites that offer analysis and stock research. The types of services they offer
can be as simple as assigning a letter or number grade to a stock, or a fairly comprehensive
analysis of the fundamentals, strengths, and weaknesses of a company.
If you are going to use this type of information in your stock research, it generally advisable to
assign more importance to the sites that provide detailed analyst research rather than simply blindly
trusting a letter or number rating issued by any one particular site. Here are a few sites that
provide more in-depth investment analysis.
- ZACKS Investment Research (zacks.com) is a premium site that
charges a subscription fee. It uses a stock rating system that is based on earnings estimate revisions.
- Morningstar (morningstar.com) is a popular site that rates
stocks on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. It also charges a subscription fee for premium membership that
offers detailed analyst research reports, a portfolio x-ray, and stock ideas.
- Fidelity (fidelity.com) offers a number of free analyst
research reports and analyst rating information when you open a brokerage account.
- Valueline (valueline.com) has a premium service that
offers both statistical, technical, and subjective analyst research for approximately 1,700
companies.
